A new revelation

If you are studious,, digging deeper into the bible is not out of your element. I knew Psalms 119 is the longest chapter of the bible, and I have highlighted a few verses that resonated with me and I keep those verse close to my heart since they have helped in seasons in my life. Well, I was reading this psalm all over again and decided to take a closer look. As I read very intently, I realized 8 words repeated in this psalm. Please note that these words and sum may vary according to your bible translation. I read mine in the King James version.
1.Word (dabar in Hebrew): His word, or saying, because it is the declaration of his mind, and Christ, the essential eternal Word, is all in all in it. (23times)
2. saying (imrah): this is another way to say word. (19 times)
3. statutes (chuqqim): the rules the *Jews made early in their history.  We translate it *laws in Psalm 119. "History" means the story of what happened. (22 times)
4. judgments (mishpatim): a later word for statutes. We translate it as "rules" in Psalm 119. (23times)
5. law (torah): this means the first 5 books of the Bible. Later it included other books like Isaiah and Jeremiah. We translate it "*teaching" in Psalm 119. (22times)
6. *commands (mitsvat): what someone with authority tells you to do. (22times)
7. precepts (piqqudim): These help us when we want to know what to do. We translate it "*guidelines" in Psalm 119. (21 times)
8. testimonies (eduth): these are the things that God tells us to do as *Jews or Christians. We translate it "*instructions" in Psalm 119. (21 times)

There’s so much meat (truth, context) in this chapter, but you can see God's character, promises, and light in Psalm 119 and all over the bible. I love how you can read the Bible 1,000 times and get something new every time; it shows how God loves us so much and gives us word when we need it or are receptive to receiving it. So next time you read the bible, don’t say it is boring; I’m just reading to check out of my to-do list; it's not relevant and just a book. Hebrews 4;12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. His word is more than just a book; it speaks to you differently according to your season or maturity.  It is not boring, and there’s plenty of context to read from.
So, I encourage you to read it, pray, and ask God to show you something new, as it did for me with the list. This list reminds me that God is amazing, and his word has all the answers and help I need. It is a one-of-a-kind book.
