“Grateful at the Table”

This year was heavy, the storms were real,
But today, around this table, our hearts can heal.
Friends and family gathered near,
Love louder than the most challenging year.

I'm blessed to see my parents' smiles,
To hold their laughter for a little while.
The food is ready, the dishes warm,
Each one is a hug in its perfect form.

Cooking is my love song, my tender art,
A way to serve with hands and heart.
Every spice, every stir, every taste—
A prayer of gratitude, never in haste.

There were nights I wondered if joy would return,
If light could rise where shadows burn.
But grace held steady, and hope stayed true,
And now I see what faith can do.

I watch my kiddos devour each bite,
Their voices ringing, "Mami, this is right!"
My husband beside me, steady and true,
Helping, laughing, and
dancing too.

We twirl in the kitchen, music on high,
Laughter like sparks that light up the sky.
Little feet tapping, big hearts aglow,
Love in the rhythm, joy in the flow.

We raise our thanks to God above,
For grace, for mercy, for endless love.
For moments like these that light the way,
For joy that blooms on Thanksgiving Day.
