Fear....Fear NOT

Have you ever heard time over time phrases, stories, or sayings? Well me too. Many times, I heard the phrase fear is not mentioned in the bible 365 times, a verse for each day of the year. So if you need encouragement you have plenty; I heard it so much I started to believe it and repeating to other people time after time but recently I started to ponder but still felt like maybe is true which I  even google it and there it was. However, a close friend told me it was not so; so now I really wanted to research. Turns out is not so, it is 79 times mentioned in the bible and 36 times mentioned in used like do not be afraid, do not fear etc. [I used King James version wording varies according to bible translation]. Even though it is not 365 in the bible still it is good to know verify was it's true. The truth is, it is mentioned in the bible and God says Fear not because He does not want us to walk by fear but by faith.  So here are the scriptures I found

For example, Fear not 

1. Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

2. Gen 26:24 And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said , I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.
3. Gen 35:17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
4. Gen 43:23 And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.
5. Gen 46;3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation.
6. Gen 50:19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
7. Gen 50:21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them and spoke kindly unto them.
8. Exodus 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still , and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever

3. 2 Kings 1:15 And the angel of the Lord said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.
4. Psalm 56:11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
5. Proverbs 3:24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Nevertheless whether is 365 or not it is mentioned in the bible, I believe it's there for a reason and purpose.God knows what we are going to face;from scary situations to hard moments. However, He loves us so much that in His word it is written, words of truth; to encourage us, strengthen us and empowered us to choose Peace and faith instead of fear. Life events will make you feel anxious and a sense of fear so i'm not saying this lightly;  sometimes life will throw things at us beyond out our control and beyond of what we can handle but rest assure that when God says  He will be with you, that means no matter what the circumstances, God will make all work out for our best. He will never fail you or forsake you. Jennifer Rothschild says " We can never side with fear because fear is never in our side" The enemy uses fear to paralyzes us, cripple us, numb us and to definitely doubt GOD and to make feel all alone. But remember, that our all-powerful God will give us the strength we need and HE is WITH YOU!
