Whispers of Hope: Trusting God in uncertain times

‘Trusting God means looking beyond what we can see to what God sees.” ~Charles Stanley

Trusting God in challenging times is one of the hardest things we must overcome as Christians. Disbelief is a symptom of doubting God. If we believe that he will sort out problems and make good on his promises, there is no reason to worry. We shouldn't grapple with trust if we believe he is omnipotent and controls all circumstances. And yet, we do.

Financial stress, unemployment, fertility burden, parenting, and fill-in-the-blank. It is tough to trust God when our natural eyes see every problem after another and our thoughts are consumed with concern, worry, and uncertainty. Moreover, it’s hard to walk through difficulties that seem too long. Trusting God without seeing solutions is challenging. "Or it may seem too unfair, or too difficult for us to continue putting our trust in HIM.". I understand. I’ve been there. In those scenarios, we must remind ourselves of previous experiences of God’s faithfulness. Let's draw from the certainty of the past to navigate today's uncertainty. We can hold on to the hope that our God, who has been faithful before, will be faithful again.

I wish I could tell you that I was fearless. And I want to say even more than I could tell you: I never cease smiling. But that would be a lie. Instead, there were moments when I failed to feel joy and see the upside in unwelcome circumstances. I found myself in disillusionment, which sometimes would creep into my heart. I made a significant request to God and begged Him to do something. And he did. But it wasn’t what I asked him to do or expected. Can you relate? At times, the outcome of our prayers is not what we expect or want. Or maybe God seems silent. And you don’t know what to do next. Something deep within feels disappointed. And afraid. And a little off. Perhaps a lot off. With God. What do you do with that? We can walk in hope, knowing that God’s strength renews us daily. We have the authority, with His strength, to overcome the moments that make us question why, and not let them hold us back or take away our joy. In faith, we can place our pain into His capable hands, for we serve a God who turns our misery into a masterpiece.

My beloved friend God is whispering hope when your trust is shattered, and faith wears thin; hope restores bridges for healing to begin. God says no matter what, I got this; I got you, and I will forever hold you. Keep trusting. Keep walking with him. He’s got you. When our uncertainty clouds our way, hope clears the fog for a brighter day." But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day (Proverbs 4:18 ESV). When the pages of life are stained with tears, hope rewrites our stories and eliminates our fears. Amidst storms and thunderous might, let Hope stand firm as a beacon in the night." When frustrations and disappointments are at their peak, our God of peace gives us the hope we need to reach the heavens." Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all. (2 Thessalonians 3:16 ESV)

As I continue to pursue uncertainty, there is hope that whispers: I am filling you with hope again. I am with you—one miracle at a time and one crisis at a time. In the valley of life, we are never alone. God is always there, helping, shielding, and protecting us. By simply whispering His holy name, we can experience His gladness, which fills our hearts with joy. We can trust in His goodness by remembering His faithfulness in the past. His unfailing love rests upon us, giving us hope despite everything around us. When our hurt turns to hope, a fresh sense of purpose and deep assurance ignite our souls. Within our hearts, God's love burns with fervent zeal, leading us to what is real. Listen closely and hear His whisper, for in His love, our hearts are made whole. We find our strength and banish fear. So, let’s surrender every hurt and hardship to Him today, sweet friends, and trust Him to do miraculous things. Because sometimes our toughest adversities can lead to our greatest purpose. God is here. Hope is the one constant because Jesus is constantly with you. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Romans 15:13 ESV)

True hope lies in our connection with God as our primary security source. Though money, relationships, and possessions can be valuable gifts, they shouldn't control us or our hopes. Hope always prevails and expects the best. Jesus can pave ways we never thought possible and perform miracles where we least expect them. He is called The Way for a reason. In times of darkness, remember these three words: Hope in God.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, amid uncertainty, I come before You with an open heart, seeking Your guidance and reassurance. Your Word reminds me that You are my refuge and strength, a present help in times of trouble. Grant me the strength to surrender my fears and anxieties into Your loving hands. Help me trust in Your perfect plan, even when I cannot see the way forward. Your wisdom surpasses all understanding, and I place my confidence in Your divine timing. As I navigate these uncertain moments, may Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Grant me discernment to recognize Your whispers of hope amidst the chaos. I thank You for the assurance that You are with me in every step. Increase my faith and help me to lean on Your promises. In this journey of trust, may I find solace and courage in Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
