The God Who Says, "Trust Me"
"Trust is not the absence of fear, but the decision to walk in faith despite it. God remains steady even when the road is unclear and the waiting feels long. His truth is greater than our uncertainty, His love deeper than our doubts. Trust HimāHe has never failed."
Have you ever driven through the fog? Where all you can see is what's right in front of you? It's unsettling, isn't it? You slow down, gripping the wheel tighter, hyper-aware of every turn. The uncertainty keeps you on edgeāyou know there's a road ahead, but you can't see it clearly.
Life can feel the same way.
There are seasons where everything feels uncertain, like you're moving forward in the fog, trying to stay calm and trust that the path is still there even when it's hidden. I remember a time when I was facing a significant decision in my life, and it felt like I was driving through a thick fog. The road ahead was blurred, prayers seemed unanswered, and fear whispered louder than faith. At this moment, I truly understood the struggle of trusting in God's plan.
And in those moments, our hearts search for reassurance, for something steady to hold onto.
Then, through the haze, we hear the quiet, unshakable voice of God:
"Trust."
"Trust Me."
"Trust Me with all your heart."
Throughout Scripture, God repeats this invitation, not as a suggestion but as a promise. He knows Trust isn't always easy, and trials shake us. And yet, His Word never wavers: Trust Me.
Why Trusting God Feels Difficult
Trust is one of the most beautiful yet challenging aspects of faith. It calls us to let go of control, surrender our fears, and believe that God is still working for our good even when things don't make sense.
But let's be honestātrusting God isn't always easy. Sometimes, life throws us into situations that question everything we thought we knew. Why does trusting God feel so hard?
1. We Like to Be in Control
One of the biggest reasons trusting God is difficult is that, deep down, we like to be in control. We want to plan our lives, predict outcomes, and ensure everything is secure. But faith requires us to release that controlāto acknowledge that we are not the ones steering the ship.
Think about driving in the fog again. If you've ever been in that situation, you know the instinct is to grip the wheel tighter, tense up, and try to force clarity where there isn't any. But trust? Trust looks like choosing to move forward even when you can't see what's ahead.
God doesn't ask us to have everything figured out. He asks us to walk with Him, even in the uncertainty.
"The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." āProverbs 16:9
2. What We See Doesn't Always Match What We Know
There are moments when the reality around us seems to challenge our beliefs about God. We know He is a provider, but what about when the bills keep piling up?
We know He is a healer, but what about when the sickness lingers?
We know He is nearābut what about when He feels silent?
Trusting God in these moments means choosing His truth over our current circumstances. Just like Abraham trusted God's promise of a son despite his old age, and Hannah believed she would conceive even when her prayers seemed unanswered, faith requires looking beyond what we see.
"For we walk by faith, not by sight." ā2 Corinthians 5:7
3. Fear and Faith Can Coexist
Sometimes, we think trusting God means we'll never feel fear. But that's not true. Faith and fear often exist togetherāthe key is not letting fear dictate our actions.
Think of Esther. She was terrified to approach the king, knowing she could be killed. And yet, she stepped forward anyway. She didn't wait for the fear to disappearāshe walked in obedience, trusting that God was bigger than her fear.
Sister, your fear doesn't mean your faith is weak. It means you are human, wrestling, learning, and growing. Trusting God isn't about never feeling afraidāit's about choosing to move forward in faith despite the fear.
"When I am afraid, I put my trust in You." āPsalm 56:3
4. Waiting Feels Unbearable
Trusting God often involves waiting, and waiting is hard. We live in a fast-moving world. We want quick solutions, instant breakthroughs, and immediate answers. But God's timing is rarely instant, but it's always perfect.
Sarah had to wait.
Joseph had to wait.
David had to wait.
And if you're waiting today, know that you're not alone. Waiting is a shared struggle, a part of the journey we all must endure, a journey that connects us all in our faith and Trust in God.
"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!" āPsalm 27:14
Examples of Trusting God in Scripture
God never calls us to blind TrustāHe shows us time and again how His faithfulness has carried His people through:
šæ Abraham was asked to leave everything familiar and enter the unknown, trusting that God had something greater ahead.
š Moses had to walk forward, believing God would part the sea after he moved.
š David trusted God's presence would never leave him despite his failures and trials.
šø Mary surrendered to a divine calling far beyond what she could understand, simply saying, "Let it be to me according to Your word."
And what did God do? He remained faithful in every moment.
What Trusting God Looks Like in Our Lives
Trusting God isn't about pretending we have no fearāit's about choosing faith in the middle of it. It's waking up each day and deciding that even though I don't see the whole picture, I will trust Him anyway, which empowers us and fills us with courage.
Trusting looks like:
š± Praying when the answers aren't clear.
š¦ļø Holding onto hope when life feels heavy.
š Surrendering control, knowing He is capable of handling every detail.
A Personal Reminder for You
If today feels uncertain, your faith feels small, or you're wrestling with doubt, pause and listen. Hear Him speaking over you:
"Trust."
"Trust Me."
"Trust Me with all your heart."
Even when life doesn't make sense, God does. And that truth is more than enough. So, if you're feeling uncertain, remember these words: "Trust Me with all your heart." Trusting in God's plan is not always easy, but it is always worth it. So, I encourage you to hold onto these words and let them guide you through the fog of uncertainty.
In these moments of struggle, take a deep breath and remember the strength within you. Feeling lost is okay, but don't let the shadows consume your light. Each challenge is an opportunity for growth, each tear a step toward healing. When you lean on Him, you'll find a peace that surpasses understanding. Embrace the journey with all its twists and turns. Surround yourself with love and find comfort in the support of those who care. Open your eyes to the small miracles that grace your life daily, as they are reminders of His presence and grace.
Believe that brighter days are ahead. Your story is still being written, and every chapter holds promise. Keep trusting, keep hoping, and keep moving forward. You are cherished, and your heart's deepest desires are safe in His hands.
