- “Still in It: A Devotional for the Weary but Willing”
To the Soul Who's Tired of Starting Over: God Is Still in It
You're tired.
Tired of falling and getting back up.
Tired of trying to do better, only to slip again.
Tired of starting over and wondering if it even matters.
If that's you… This is for you.
You're not weak—you're weary. And that weariness doesn't disqualify you. It's not a sign of failure; it's a sign that you've been fighting. Showing up. Trying again. And that's exactly where God meets us—not in our polished moments, but in our undone ones.
You could hit restart more times than you can count. Perhaps you've whispered prayers through tears, wondering if they even reached heaven. You may have questioned whether healing is possible for someone like you.
But hear this: God is still in it.
He hasn't walked away. He hasn't changed His mind about you. He's still writing your story—grace tucked between every line, mercy woven into every chapter.
When Peter asked Jesus how many times he should forgive—"Seven times?"—Jesus replied, "Seventy times seven" (Matthew 18:21-22). That wasn't about math. It was about the heart of God. A heart that doesn't keep score. A heart that welcomes you back every single time.
If Jesus calls us to forgive without limit, how much more does He forgive you?
That relapse, step backward, that moment of weakness—none disqualifies you. His grace doesn't run out. His love doesn't wear thin. His arms don't close.
Heart Reflection:
- What might God be rebuilding in me beneath the surface of all this starting over?
- Where am I still carrying disappointment that needs grace instead of guilt?
- What truth must I believe today to keep going, one step, one breath at a time?
- What does my soul need: permission, patience, or presence?
- If I trusted that nothing was wasted, how would I look at my past differently?
- Where have I been holding my breath spiritually—and how can I exhale in God again?
- What have I survived that I haven't yet celebrated?
Healing doesn't look like perfection. It seems like persistence—the quiet kind. The kind that whispers "Help" when your soul is too tired to shout. It looks like choosing hope, not because it's easy,
but because somewhere deep down, you still believe God isn't done. You're not back at square one. You're standing on everything you've walked through. Every scar, every lesson, every moment of surrender is part of the foundation God is building beneath your feet. Even when you can't see the progress, He does. So take heart. Rest when you need to. Cry when it catches you by surprise. Start again as many times as it takes. Because this is not failure—it's faith in motion. And the One who called you is still in it. Still carrying you. Still weaving beauty from the broken places. You're not starting over. You're beginning to go deeper. And he's not finished with you yet.
Application:
Today, instead of trying to "get it together," try this:
- Breathe.
- Whisper a prayer, even if it's just "Jesus, help."
- Write down one thing you've survived that proves you're not starting from scratch.
Let that be your offering. Let that be enough.

I'm fighting for you and with you~GOD |
Prayer:
Jesus, I'm tired. I've tried and failed again, but you're still in this with me. I think you haven't given up. Help me to rest in Your grace, to trust that You're still working, and to keep walking—even if it's just one small step today. Amen.
