Returning Is Faith
Lamentations 3:22–23 — “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.
James 4:8 — “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
If you've surrendered the same thing ten times, twenty times, or a hundred times
That is not a weakness.
That is devotion.
Real surrender is rarely dramatic.
It is quiet.
Daily. Sometimes hourly.
You feel it rise again.
You feel the urge to control it again.
And you place it back in God's hands anyway.
That is faith with skin on it.
God is not disappointed by how often you return.
He is honored that you do.
Your repeated surrender isn't a sign of spiritual failure; it's proof your heart knows where home is.
Even when it feels repetitive, even when it feels heavy, every return shows you are choosing Him over your own strength.
There is nothing shameful about coming back to God again and again.
It means you refuse to carry what was never yours to begin with.
It means you trust Him more than your frustration.
It means you believe He is still working, even when you're tired of waiting.
Heart Reflections
• What have you had to surrender again and again?
• Do you carry quite a shame for still struggling with it?
• How would your heart shift if you saw returning to God as faithfulness rather than failure?
Write down the moments you kept coming back, even when it felt hard.
Notice the courage in that persistence.
Let's Pray
Father, remove the shame I attach to my struggle.
Thank you for being patient with me and honoring every return.
Help me trust Your timing and Your hands over my own.
Give me the courage to surrender again, without fear or guilt.
Amen.
A truth to hold onto
I declare that returning to God is strength, not failure.
My repeated surrender is devotion, not defeat.
His hands hold what I cannot, and I trust Him completely.
