“The Treasure Hunt of the Mind”
For the overthinkers, the seekers, and the ones who feel lost
Philippians 4:7 — "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Our minds—a sea of wonder deep,
Where thoughts arise and secrets sleep.
A treasure hunt of light and shade,
Where memories bloom and fears cascade.
They shield us from the world's sharp edge,
They warn us to stand on the ledge.
They push us forward, hold us back,
They trace each joy, each heart attack.
They analyze, they twist, they turn,
They spark with fire, they freeze, they burn.
They build a maze with no clear end,
Where truth and doubt begin to blend.
Overthinking—like waves that crash,
A thousand thoughts in lightning flash.
What if, what then, what could go wrong?
The mind plays loops, a haunting song.
It tells us we are not enough,
That life is cruel, the road is rough.
It makes us question every choice,
And drowns out God's still, loving voice.
But even here, in tangled thought,
God whispers truths we once forgot:
"You are not broken, not alone,
I see your heart, I call it home."
Let God's voice be louder than the rest,
A sacred calm within your chest.
Let His truth break through the haze,
And guide you through these shadowed days.
He sees the battle in your soul,
The silent war that takes its toll.
But He who calmed the raging sea
Now speaks His peace to you and me.
So breathe again, though weak you feel,
His love is deep, His grace is real.
This moment hurts, but it won't last—
Hold on, dear heart, this too shall pass.
2 Corinthians 10:5 — "We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
Though mystery clouds the mind's terrain,
And safety feels so far, so vain—
God walks the corridors unseen,
And plants His peace where fear has been.
He knows the thoughts that twist and spin,
The doubts that echo deep within.
He knows the questions left unasked,
The burdens hidden behind masks.
He doesn't shame the restless mind,
He meets us there, so soft, so kind.
He doesn't rush, He doesn't scold—
He simply stays and takes hold.
So when your thoughts begin to race,
And you feel lost in time and space,
Remember this: you're held, you're known—
Your mind is not a war alone.
Let every thought be brought to Him,
Though some feel dark, and some feel dim.
He is the light, the steady flame,
The One who knows you by your name.
