More than a Mother

MORE THAN A MOTHER

When God set the world in place,
when He hung the stars up in space,
when He made the land and the sea,
then He made you and me.

He sat back and saw all that was good,
He saw things to be as they should.
Just one more blessing He had in store;
He created a mother, but whatever for?

He knew a mother would have a special place
to shine His reflection on her child's face.
A mother will walk the extra mile
just to see her children smile.
She'll work her fingers to the bone
to make a house into a home.

A mother is there to teach and guide,
a mother will stay right by your side.
She'll be there through your pain and strife,
she'll stay constant in your life.

A mother will lend a helping hand
until you have the strength to stand.
She'll pick you up when you are down,
when you need a friend she'll stick around.

A mother is one who listens well,
will keep her word; will never tell.

A mother never pokes or pries
but stands quietly by your side,
giving you the strength you need,
encouraging you to succeed.

A mother is one who can be strong
when you need someone to lean on.

You're more than a mother to me;
a reflection of Him in your face I see,
a love that knows no boundaries.

I'm glad that you chose to be
all this and more to me.
You share a love that knows no end,
you're more than my mother,
you are my friend.

This poem speak volumes & It has been a while since a poem resonated with me like this one. It reflects how I feel about my mom. Even though, my mami & I don't see eye to eye I can always count on her.She is more than a mom, she plays many roles but to me she my wonder woman.

On mother's day, We had a spectacular program plan for all the mothers on our church. We bought roses & bookmarks to give every mom on arrival then our Pastor had a great service plan for them. We had a nice guest speaker, she spoke about the influence and impact moms have in our lives. It was quite refreshing and insightful. then, it was time for all the mommy's to enjoy a great party. The fellowship committee plan an amazing program. They decorate with beautiful floral centerpieces with cute happy mothers day balloons. yellow tablecloths along with clear plates, cups & wrapped utensils (green colors) everything was color coordinated to the T. The day was filled with laughter's, tears, surprises, gifts, games and plenty of fun. Oh, did I mention we had a feast. beautiful cupcakes and delicious menu.

We had a chance to express our gratefulness to our mom and give her our gifts. We spend the whole day with the family celebrating mom, sissy & Nana. After a great program at church we went shopping. Gotta shop. then, went to visit Nana & spend time with my second mom as well as express how much we love her. Later, we went to Red Robin to dine some more with my family. We ended up with more laughter's and craziness...I'm sure my mom had a great Mother's day MOM you're loved, cared for, and we are thankful for everything you do for us...

Happy Mother's day!
