Legend of the Candy Cane

There was a time long ago when religious symbols were banned from display in England. During this time the legend says a dedicated christian candy maker decided to create a new symbol. He fashioned a pure white stick of candy into a shepherd's staff as a reminder that our heavenly Father is the Good Shepherd. Then he placed three small stripes on it to represent the Trinity. The bold red stripe was meant to symbolized the redeeming power of Christ's sacrifice for us. So whenever you see a candy cane let it remind you of the sweet and wonderful truth of Christmas.
" Today there was born to you in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord" Luke 2:11
